Privacy

What we collect

• The price, merchant, and context you choose to submit (product, store, fulfillment, promotion state, etc.).
• A coarse, self-reported country (a 2-letter code) — never precise location or GPS.
• An anonymous session token, stored as a cookie on your device. We only ever store a one-way hash of that token, not the token itself — we can recognize repeat submissions from the same browser, but we can't reverse the hash back to identify you.
• An optional screenshot, if you choose to attach one as evidence for your submission.

What we don't collect

• No name, email, or account is required to submit a price check.
• No payment information — the platform doesn't process payments.
• No third-party analytics or ad-tracking scripts run on this site.
• No merchant login credentials or cookies are ever requested or stored.

How your submission is used

Every submission is reviewed by an admin before it can appear in any public comparison — see methodology. Verified submissions feed aggregate statistics (medians, percentiles, price history) and may be included in published research. We never publish an individual submission's raw context in a way that would let it be traced back to the person who submitted it.

Evidence photos

If you attach a screenshot, it's stored privately and used only to verify your submission — it's never shown publicly. Our retention target is 30 days from upload, after which it's no longer needed once a submission has been reviewed.

This site uses two kinds of cookies: an anonymous participant-session cookie (as described above), and, for admin users only, a login session cookie. Neither is used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Some merchant and comparison pages include affiliate links, clearly labeled as such. Following one may earn this platform a commission at no extra cost to you, and the destination site (not PriceChkd) will see that the visit came through an affiliate link.
